My eyes gaze skyward through the blacky night
For sleep carries disdain for me, it seems.
And giving my mind wings, it takes flight,
Soaring on into my waking dreams.

I land on a planet far, far away,
Teaming with strange and colorful birds
that sing me harmonics that whisper and play
on my thoughts and silencing words.

My life here is long and I never return
to the world that I knew in my youth.
I cry happy tears at the moment I learn,
That the only thing missing was truth.
