I like being awake before the sun

It’s cold, but the light is just starting to hit the sky and it’s filled with a deep blue.

I like being awake before everyone else

Before the energy has been scooped out of the pot and there’s still enough left for me.

I like being awake before the noise fills the air

It’s quiet and serene and I’m the only one there.

It gives me room to think and ponder and dream. It suits me.
